Currently the head coach of the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL).

Fan letter sent: January 21, 2014.

Autographs received: January 28, 2014.

Ben Simon was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in 1997, but he never played for that team. He did play for the AHL's Chicago Wolves in the early-to-mid 2000s, so he is known in Chicago. Simon worked as an assistant coach with the Rockford IceHogs -- the Blackhawks' AHL affiliate -- during the past two years. He is now the head coach of the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones.

Simon autographed my card in black Sharpie marker. He personalized it "To Sal, All the best!" A very nice return from the former Chicago hockey player.

Those IceHogs cards look great for team-issued cards. Retro is always a good choice.

I wholeheartedly agree. Also nice is that the cards lack gloss on the front, which means the ink takes to the surface nicely.
