Nathan Lawson

Currently with the Binghamton Senators (AHL).

Fan letter sent: December 10, 2012.

Autographs received: February 4, 2013.

Nathan Lawson is "stuck" in a 3-goalie system--as the third-string goalie--for the Binghamton Senators of the AHL. Thus far, he's only appeared in 5 games for the B-Sens. He also appeared in 1 game for the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL earlier this year.

Lawson autographed my 2010-11 Panini All Goalies card in black Sharpie marker, personalizing it and adding 52--the number he was mired with in his 10 game stint with the Islanders.

Alec Richards

Currently with the Dresdner Eislowen (Germany).

Fan letter sent: November 23, 2012.

Autographs received: January 30, 2013.

On the same exact day that I received these two autographed trading cards from Rockford IceHogs goalie Alec Richards, he was assigned to the Dresdner Eislowen in Germany. This was because the Chicago Blackhawks acquired Henrik Karlsson earlier in the week and assigned him to Rockford.

Richards played 4 seasons at Yale University, followed by 4 more seasons split between the AHL's Rockford IceHogs and the ECHL's Toledo Walleye. With two capable netminders in Chicago and another two in Rockford, his future in the Blackhawks' organization is uncertain. Hopefully, he catches the attention of another NHL team that might bring him back to North America.

Anyway, Richards nicely signed my two cards in black Sharpie marker, adding his jersey number beneath his 'graph.

Georges Laraque

hockey cardGeorge Laraque

Retired player.

Signed insert card.

Purchased at a card show in November 2012.

Georges Laraque was one of the most feared enforcers during his NHL career. He played for the Edmonton Oilers, Phoenix Coyotes, Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, racking up 1126 penalty minutes in 695 games.

Laraque is now involved in politics and is the executive director of the Canadian Hockey League Players' Association. He also made an appearance in the 2011 hockey film Goon, which makes him even more awesome of a person.

This card is from the 2009-10 Be A Player Signatures insert set. It is signed on a sticker in black Sharpie marker. I was pretty happy when I found this at a card show for $2, as I remember Laraque pretty well during his NHL days (he even signed a card for me back in 2007).

Signed insert card.

Purchased at a card show in November 2012.

Daniel Paille is in his 8th NHL season. He broke into the league with the Buffalo Sabres and is now with the Boston Bruins.

This card is from the 2008-09 Upper Deck Signature Sensations autographed insert set. It is signed on a sticker in blue Sharpie marker.

I got this at a show back in November. I don't remember what I paid for it, but it was around $1 or $2.

Andrew Ebbett

hockey cardAndrew Ebbett

Currently with the Vancouver Canucks.

Signed insert card.

Purchased at a card show in November 2012.

Andrew Ebbett played in only 10 games for the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2009-10 season. He actually played for 3 teams that year--the 'Hawks, the Anaheim Ducks and the Minnesota Wild.

Since his tour with the Blackhawks was so short, Ebbett's autograph is not really sought after by 'Hawks fans. That's probably why I was able to find it for $2 at a recent show. It is nicely signed on-card in blue Sharpie marker.

Ebbett is currently with the Vancouver Canucks. During the lockout, he played for the Chicago Wolves of the AHL. The Canucks are his 5th NHL team.
