Georges Laraque

hockey cardGeorge Laraque

Retired player.

Signed insert card.

Purchased at a card show in November 2012.

Georges Laraque was one of the most feared enforcers during his NHL career. He played for the Edmonton Oilers, Phoenix Coyotes, Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, racking up 1126 penalty minutes in 695 games.

Laraque is now involved in politics and is the executive director of the Canadian Hockey League Players' Association. He also made an appearance in the 2011 hockey film Goon, which makes him even more awesome of a person.

This card is from the 2009-10 Be A Player Signatures insert set. It is signed on a sticker in black Sharpie marker. I was pretty happy when I found this at a card show for $2, as I remember Laraque pretty well during his NHL days (he even signed a card for me back in 2007).

Good to know.

Read the story. Sounds like a CHL players' union isn't happening all that quickly.

I have a few questions, im a newbie. Do you have Ovi's autograph? also, how long did it take to get signitures from the GR Griffins? i live an hour from the arena but would like to try sending cards through mail to Gustav Nyquist and Riley Sheahan. TIA

I don't have Ovechkin's autograph.

Hard to say how long getting an autograph through the mail takes. Depends on the player, team and time of season.
