I've written to Jeff Frazee twice--once in 2010 and once in 2011--and never got a reply for either autograph request.

So, I figured that if I wanted Frazee's autograph, I'd have to buy it. This card is from the 2010-11 Between the Pipes set and is signed (on sticker) in black Sharpie marker.

Braden Holtby

Currently with the Washington Capitals.

Holtby had such an impressive run in the 2012 NHL playoffs. He posted a 1.95  GAA for a Capitals team that couldn't always find their offense. There is a great chance that Holdby might win the starting role for the Caps next season.

Mark Segal

Mark Segal played 2 seasons for the Vancouver Giants of the WHL. He now plays college hockey in Canada for McGill University.

Daryl Reaugh

Retired player. Currently a color commentator for the Dallas Stars and for CBC.

Daryl Reaugh, aka "Razor" had a short career in the NHL: 7 games for the Edmonton Oilers and 20 games for the Hartford Whalers.

However, he has enjoyed a long and prosperous career as a color commentator. Reaugh is one of the few ex-players I really enjoy listening to. Sure, he was mostly a minor-leaguer, but that means that he had to work harder and understands the ins-and-outs of the game more. This year, Reaugh was added to the Hockey Night in Canada staff.

Reaugh nicely autographed all 5 of my cards in blue Sharpie marker. He also enclosed the following note:

Jonathan Bernier

Jonathan Bernier

Bernier is the backup goaltender for the L.A. Kings.

This card is from the 2006-07 Between the Pipes set. It is signed in black marker, and shows Bernier from his junior career with the Lewiston MAINEiacs (QMJHL).

Kent Manderville

Kent Manderville

Kent Manderville broke into the NHL during the 1991-92 season with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Over the next 10 years, he would play for the Leafs, Whalers, Hurricanes, Oilers, Flyers and Penguins, as well as a few minor league teams. He then spent 4 years in Europe before retiring. Overall, an admirable career.

This card is from the 1997-98 Be A Player Hockey set. It is an autographed insert, signed in black marker. I bought it online for $1.00 from a fellow collector who was selling off some of his signed inserts.

I will always be a fan of Craig Anderson for two reasons:

1. He is from Park Ridge, a nearby suburb of Chicago.

2. He does not forget the fans.

Anderson signed all 4 of my cards in thin blue marker. Since picking up the TTM hobby again in 2006, I have had four successes from Anderson. In fact, my first success of 2006 was from him. Anderson also replied in 2009 and 2011.

Derek Nesbitt used to play for the Rockford Icehogs, but now plays for the Peoria Rivermen. He autographed my card in black Sharpie marker. I now have 10 different signed cards from the 2007-08 Rockford Icehogs team set.

Bryan Bickell completed his second full season with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2011-12. He signed both of my cards in black Sharpie marker. Both are from Rockford Icehogs team sets.

Lately, I've seen this billboard around Chicago:


Bickell is involved in a charity organization called Chicago Loves Pitts, who specialize in rescue and adoption of the pit bulls. He even appears in some of their videos.

Jeff Daniels

Retired player. Currently the head coach of the Charlotte Checkers (AHL).

Jeff Daniels played pro hockey from 1988 to 2003. He played with several NHL clubs, including the Pittsburgh Penguins, Nashville Predators, Hartford Whalers and Carolina Hurricanes. He also played with numerous minor league (AHL and IHL) teams, including the now-defunct Detroit Vipers.

Daniels is currently the head coach of the 'Canes AHL team, the Charlotte Checkers. He nicely signed all 4 of my cards in black Sharpie marker.

Vladamir Malakhov

Vladamir Malakhov (Владимир  Малахов)

Malakhov was a defenseman who played 13 seasons in the NHL. He played for the New York Islanders, New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers.

This card is from the 1997-98 Be A Player signed insert set. It is signed in thin black marker.

Brandon Saad

Brandon Saad made his NHL debut at the beginning of the 2011-12 season, but then was sent back to his junior team. He returned to the Blackhawks once his season in the OHL wrapped up.

This card is from the 2011-12 Score Hockey set. It is a redemption card, signed on a sticker in blue Sharpie marker.

Sean Burke played 18 seasons in the NHL and is now the goalie coach for the Phoenix Coyotes.

This is another signed insert in the 1998-99 Be A Player autograph series. Yesterday, I posted a card of Jarome Iginla.

I regret not buying those cards back in the day. Packs sold for $5 and contained one autograph. Hell, nowadays I'd LOVE getting an autograph in EVERY pack. Nowadays, you get one autograph in EVERY BOX if you are lucky.

I have roughly half of the 300-card Be A Player Autographed Parallel set. I think I have all the "easy" cards--the ones that sell for $1 or $2. So now, I have to start cracking down on the stars and superstars.

For those of you not familiar with this set, it is printed on shiny foil board. Unfortunately, flatbed scanners tend to pick up all of the scratches but none of the shine. 

When I went to  a card show a few months back, I found a signed Jarome Iginla card. It was marked at $7, but I the dealer knocked off a few bucks because I bought a bunch of cards and insert sets at his table.
