It's a new hockey season and a new season for collecting autographs. Sure, the NHL is on lockout, but that doesn't mean fans should stop writing letters.

Until this silly lockout subsides, I am going to focus my letters on minor league players or retired players.

Speaking of which, Steve Shutt is my first TTM success for the 2012-13 season. In 10 days, Mr. Shutt signed 4 cards for me in black Sharpie marker, personalizing each one To Sal.

Shutt set the record for most goals by a left wing (since broken), won the Stanley Cup 5 times and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1993.

So far, I have sent out 6 letters, and I am already off to a great start!
