Lanny McDonaldRetired player. Elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1992.
Autographed card purchased at a card shop on September 21, 2012.
Happy Monday to my readers and fellow bloggers. If you haven't figured it out from the last two posts here, I recently purchased a bunch of autographs from a local card shop. Most of the autographs I bought were of bit players or journeymen. I did make one exception, though, and picked up this sweet autograph of everyone's favorite mustache, Lanny McDonald.
This card is from the 1983-84 O-Pee-Chee set. While that set is not one of my favorites, I do like this particular card. We have a nice portrait of Lanny--and his classic 'stache--sporting a Flames practice jersey with the Molson logo on it. The card is also nicely signed in blue Sharpie marker. Unlike most of the cards I bought, though, this one cost more than a few dollars. I paid $7 for it, which I think was extremely fair given McDonald's exceptional, Hall of Fame career.
