Michel GouletRetired player.
Elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1998.
Autographs obtained in person on July 21 & 22, 2012.
Michel Goulet was a player I enjoyed watching back in the day. He was with the Quebec Nordiques when I started watching hockey, and was later traded to the Chicago Blackhawks. He scored 548 goals 604 assists and over his 15-season NHL career, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1998.
Last month, Goulet was signing autographs at the Chicago Blackhawks Convention. On the second day of the convention, I waited in line to get his 1980-81 O-Pee-Chee rookie card signed.
Goulet recognized his rookie card right away. "Hey, that's my rookie card! Very cool, what is this worth, five bucks?” he asked while signing my card.
“Well, now it’s priceless to me,” I replied.
He got a good laugh out of that.
Goulet did another signing on the third day of the show. At first, I was going to get his 1981-82 O-Pee-Chee card signed, but decided to get a photo from the dealer room instead. I found this one, which must have been from the end of the 1989-90 season.

The autograph on this photo looks great. Goulet had plenty of room to sign a big autograph, and he wrote H.O.F. 1998 beneath his signature.

Goulet was one of my favourite players growing up. On a line with Peter Stastny, they were the second-most productive line of the 80s, after the Gretzky/Kurri/third wheel line. (Stastny is the player after Gretzky who scored the most points in the 80s, Denis Savard being close behind).
Very nice autographs, congrats! (I'm going to write to him care of the Flames this year, where he serves as scout).
