John Marks was the Blackhawks first round pick in 1968 (9th overall), and played for them from 1972 to 1982.
After retiring, Marks has had an impressive coaching career--4 seasons as an assistant coach followed by 26 seasons as a head coach. He has coached in the "old" IHL, the ECHL, the SPHL, the "new" IHL, the Manitoba Junior Hockey League and is currently a coach in the United States Hockey League.
He also led his teams to league championships 3 times: 1996 with Charlotte (ECHL), 2002 with Greensville (ECHL) and 2007 with Fayetteville (SPHL).
Marks appeared at the 2012 Chicago Blackhawks Convention, and signed an O-Pee-Chee card for me.
