Chris Chelios

Chris Chelios

Recently retired player.

Signed insert. Purchased at the Blackhawks Convention on August 1, 2010

My hero and favorite hockey player of all-time, Chris Chelios, retired at the end of August. At the beginning of the month, I found a signed Be A Player card of Chelios for five bucks.

Now, I know what you're thinking: "But Sal, you bought that very same card way back in December 2006."

Yeah, that is true...but I really wanted another one. It was affordable, and it was of my favorite player. Heck, at $5, I'd fill a binder up with these if I could find that many.

I recently bought three cards from this same set.

It's a great set of autograph cards, although they didn't give the players much room to write their signature! It's nice to see that Mr. Chelios didn't let that stop him from laying down a full, sweeping auto.

I like it when players sign 'outside the lines'. :)

Thanks for your comment. It is a good set--I have 27 autographed cards from that set, and another 5 of the foil variants.

very nice--got some IP signed cards of Chelios back in 87--even then, a bit of a jerk--since there weren't too many cards to get signed back in the day, I had two rookie cards plus second year--said sneeringly--you're probably going to sell them and I replied "????? (thank) you "--of course, maybe a bit of a hangover LOL

Are you sure you said "thank you?"

If you ever do want to SELL one of those signed Chelios RCs, I know just the person who'd be interested in buying one.
